Welcome to 2013 all; hope Santa
was kind to you and that all had a safe and enjoyable time with friends and
family. I don’t have a lot to talk about business wise, our Christmas party was
a success with a good sized crowd, I wish I made it around to see more people and
we had more dessert myself but other than that it was a good time (watching my
nephew and “Santa” was one certainly a highlight)
We want to congratulate Walt Biggs Jr on
being named member of the year, we have many outstanding members who put in a
lot of effort and Walt certainly did put in the time this year with our track
and fighting equipment issues
Well with harvest wrapped up I do have progress
made on my Oliver (brakes apart, a new clutch ordered, and the plan is to have
it running and at the show this year) I also have a new project idea I intend
to share with the club, updating a couple old videos to DVD of our show in 2001
and an older show at LeSourdesville Lake/Americana in 1993. I get a kick out of
seeing how much our show has grown and some of the familiar faces we still have
with us and working, I imagine some of you out there would too J
Another idea I have is for the
newsletter, if business is short we could mention and share our member’s
experiences with their “treasures” in future newsletters for discussion. I
think we all started by having some kind of interest in equipment and tractors,
and through that we have made friends along the way, maybe this is a way for
some new friends to be made and knowledge shared J I know some of
you out there have kids-grandkids who are working on a project, it don’t matter
if it even has paint, we’d love to see them
